Brow Lamination: DO’S & DON’TS

What is brow lamination?

Brow lamination is a treatment that assists in sculpting the eyebrows to achieve a sleek, elevated and smooth look. The process involves applying a chemical solution to “perm” the eyebrow hairs, followed by reshaping and setting it into a sleeker, elevated, and smoother form. The typical lifespan of lamination ranges from 4 to 8 weeks, though it can extend further with some helpful tips!

What should I avoid before my appointment?

This treatment is not suitable for those while pregnant, breastfeeding, or if using Roaccutane. Stop using any retinol or Vitamin A products at least 3-7 days prior to your appointment. This includes retinol used on other parts of the face as the product can move to that region during the night.  Make sure you completely remove all makeup, sunscreen, or any oily moisturisers from around the eye area before your appointment.

What should I avoid in the first 24 hours?

  • Stay away from water, sweat, and steam – excess moisture can impact the setting process.

  • Avoid rubbing or touching the treated area, which includes facial massages or applying make-up close to the brow region.

  • Do not sleep face-down for the initial 48 hours.

  • When applying cleansers or skincare products, steer clear of the brow area.

  • After 24 hours, apply a nourishing serum such as castor oil or Elleplex) daily after brow lamination. This practice not only enhances hair strength and health but also prolongs your eyebrow tint.

  • Avoid using tanning products (including gradual tan) on your face for 4 days both BEFORE and AFTER your appointment, as they can alter the eyebrow tint’s color.

  •  Please note that we can only do lamination treatments every 10 weeks to ensure the optimal health of your brow hair.

  •  Using an oil-free makeup remover after 24 hours will also contribute to extending the longevity of your lamination.

Can I fill my brows in after lamination?

Yes, but it’s best to avoid doing so within the initial 24 hours. During your treatment, the therapist will wax your brows, leaving the follicles open. Using additional products around the brow area during this time might lead to irritation, including the development of spots and bumps. However, once the first 24 hours have passed, you’re welcome to apply any products you prefer to fill in your brows. Following brow lamination, clear gels and finely tipped pencils work to achieve a soft, natural, and fluffy finish. A quick brush-through using a spoolie brush every morning will uphold your desired brow positioning. Additionally, using brow soap can  firmly set your brows in place.

LASH LIFT: DO’S & DON’TS

What is a lash lift?

An eyelash lift is a semi-permanent treatment to elevate and curve your eyelashes. This procedure involves the application of a solution onto your lashes, gently lifting them from the base and creating a naturally elevated look. The outcome is a refreshed and wide-eyed appearance that can last for up to 8 weeks.

What should I avoid before my appointment?

This treatment is not suitable for those while pregnant, breastfeeding, or if using Roaccutane. Make sure you’re not wearing any mascara or false lashes to your appointment. If you’ve been using EyeEnvy you need to stop a few days before. Stop using any retinol or Vitamin A products at least 3-7 days prior to your appointment. Make sure you completely remove all eye makeup before your appointment.

What should I avoid in the first 24 hours?

Similarly, lash lifts need a full 24 hours to set and for this reason it’s best to avoid the below:

  • Refrain from water, sweat, and steam.

  • Avoid sleeping face-down for the first 48 hours.

  • Do not apply mascara within 24 hours following your appointment.

  • Treat your lashes gently, avoiding rubbing or facial massages.

After the initial 24 hours:

  • Brush your lashes daily.

  • Apply castor oil or Elleplex conditioner daily to prevent dryness.

  • You can now apply make-up.

  • Kindly note that we schedule lash lift treatments every 12 weeks to maintain lash health.
