For this edition we feature TPR Bride Natalie Weiss who tied the knot back in May earlier this year. With a rustic outdoor wedding, surrounded by Autumn leaves, the day featured a number of little touches that made the day that much more special. Here, Natalie shares all the details and inspiration that went into planning the special day.

The Backstory

Our wedding was on a beautiful 100 acre property in the Lower Hunter Valley - The Woodhouse. We specifically picked May for our wedding as all of the trees would be stunning shapes of orange, red and yellow during Autumn - spoiler alert, they were! We had our ceremony outside near a beautiful lake, which had a stunning orange moss on top.

The clouds started to roll in half an hour before the ceremony started, then all of a sudden just before the ceremony began, the sun popped out and stayed for the rest of the day. The reception was in a rustic barn, alongside an outdoor dance floor and massive fire pit! It had a great farm feel to it, with a touch of class. We had a relatively small wedding of 160 people - it was perfectly intimate.

The Inspiration…

We wanted a rustic outdoor wedding outside of Sydney, so our theme naturally flowed from this. We had wooden table numbers, rustic decorations with recycled alcohol bottles and fairy lights on each table and green foliage decorating the tables.

My Dad made our Chuppah (Jewish arbour), we decided to leave it bare with no flowers or leaves, that way it never took away from our ceremony or the beautiful landscape. My bouquet was a mix of Australian natives, Hungarian Tulips and South African Proteas, a nod to our heritage. Both our Mum's are Hungarian and both our Dad's are South African, and we are both Australian.

The little touches made a huge difference in making the day feel extra special. My make up was incredibly simple and natural. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day.

The Prep…

Skincare

In the lead up to the wedding I continued my regular skincare routine. I avoided adding any new products into my routine as I have sensitive skin, I think the consistency helped to ensure my complexion was at its best.

Six weeks before the wedding I had a fantastic facial at Self by The Parlour Room - Marissa did the Signature Facial, which perfectly balanced and reset my skin in the weeks before the wedding. I strongly believe that what you eat has an impact on your skin, so before the wedding I increased my intake of foods with Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Antioxidants rich foods like; Avocado, Kiwi fruit, Grapes, Peaches, Pumpkin Seeds and Sweet Potato.

Beauty

Two days before the wedding my bridal party and I booked the Bridal Party Package at the Parlour Room and had manicures and pedicures, alongside some champagne! It was so nice to relax and get pampered right before the wedding - make sure you book well in advance as it is a popular spot for brides.

Her advice for future Brides-To-Be…

The lead up and planning never seems to end, you spend so much effort on planning for the perfect day and then the day arrives and it goes by in a flash. Make the most of your wedding day by being present and mindful of the little things around you.

Stop and take in your family, your new partner, the scenery, try and embrace every moment - no matter what happens!
