WAXING

To ensure a silky smooth finish, it comes down to the prep and timing.

Need To Know

  • Exfoliation is the key to a smooth finish so make sure this is part of your weekly routine. You want to make sure that all the dead skin cells potentially blocking any hairs to grow through have been removed so as to prevent any ingrown hairs.

  • If you are having a spray tan, all hair removal should be done 72hrs prior to your appointment so that the tanning solution does not affect or irritate the skin. Waxing can also help lift any old tan residue if you’re still trying to get rid of it in the days before your tan appointment however it can also lift skin which can cause darker markings in your tan, especially on the arms if you wax them.

  • For best results, we always recommend growing your hair at least 1cm so that the whole hair can be removed as opposed to breaking the follicle instead.

  • Before your appointment, have a shower and avoid applying any moisturiser to the area to ensure that it is completely dry.

  • Your skin is at its most sensitive before or during your period, so it's best to plan your wax around this. If you have no choice but to get a wax while on your period, make sure you’re wearing a tampon and try and avoid your heaviest days

  • Like all waxing, the pain will depend on your own pain threshold, however, your therapists will take all steps to ensure the pain is as minimal as possible

  • For continued best results, we recommend rebooking every 4-6 weeks. Avoid shaving in between appointments as this will mess up your hair growth cycle and leave you with constant short, spikey hairs

FAQs

HOW DO I GET RID OF AN INGROWN HAIR?

If you’ve got an ingrown hair, get a warm washer and gently apply pressure over the affected area.

I’M GETTING A SPRAY TAN, WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY WAX IN?

All hair removal should be done at least 2-3 days before so that the tan won’t irritate or react with the skin.

WILL I BREAK OUT AFTER MY LIP WAX?

This depends on the individual, some people are more prone to break out. To help prevent, avoid touching the area or applying heavy creams or makeup afterwards for 24hrs and avoid any activity that will cause you to sweat.
