For this edition, we feature beautiful TPR Bride & former SELF Therapist, Jessica Breedon, and her skincare journey, beauty tips and the inspiration for her special day in the UK.

Dovy and I met many years ago, 9 to be precise in London on the good old Tinder. It was the first month it came out which is crazy! After 4 years, we decided to set off travelling which led us to a 5-year stint in the beautiful Sydney where of course The Parlour Room was my second home for 4.5 years. He popped the question on a sunrise swim in Fiji in January 2023. As many of us girls do, as soon as that ring was on it was time to bring my Pinterest board to life and we decided we didn’t want to wait long. We would get married in London on the weekend of our 9th anniversary in the city where it all started. Planning a wedding from the other side of the world may seem challenging but, as it goes it was relatively easy, I think having a clear vision of what you want helps.

My inspiration was classic and simple, I wanted sex in the city vibes with the class and the warm fuzzy feeling of a Nancy Meyers movie. Your day should represent both of you and our day did just that, the formalities were held in a gorgeous town hall in Marylebone with the reception in a traditional London pub where guests were greeted with a ‘his or her’ cocktail and Tommy’s Marg or Amaretto Sour before we danced the night away with love soul music. My dress was what I wanted down to a tee, square neck, low back, and buttons down the train I never wanted to take it off. My favourite accessory had to be my ‘vow’ gloves which were embroidered with ‘To Have And To Hold’ and ‘To Love And Cherish’. My husband wore a classic tux and my bridesmaids were in black, I wanted everything black and white and simply beautiful.

The hardest thing about the prep was finding a make-up artist, being a skin therapist myself I love to show off glowy skin and not cover it with cakey powders. I had three trials and I was third time lucky with the beautiful Poppy Tallulah Makeup. She used everything cream based to enhance the dewiness and keep with the ‘no make-up, make- up’ brief. Getting my skin ready has been a steady journey with SELF. I had been having regular enzyme peels and LED Light Therapy, which in my opinion is the dream combo. The best advice I can give anyone is to start early, skin takes many cell turnovers to improve. Having a good home regime is also a must. The IS Clinical Active Peel System is what I used every other night, two months consistently,  before the big day. I didn’t need any treatments the week of the wedding, they are just magic.

Myself and my bridal party all prepped our skin on the day with the Medik8 Hydr8 Sheet Masks. For nails, I only ever have two colours, either French or Berry Boudoir. I always said I would have dark red for my day but knowing a lot of my photos would be in black and white I opted for classic French. My nails were so long on the day as I had been getting BIAB. BIAB is the best nail option for growth. I would never go back. My other prep was a lash lift, brow lamination, and spray tan.

My main piece of advice for any bride is not to change themselves to look ‘bridal.’ Don’t go for a heavier make-up look or lash extensions if it’s not what you normally do, you want to look like yourself on the day. Enjoy the process and don’t sweat the small stuff because when it comes down to it, all that matters is the person waiting for you at the bottom of the aisle and who you’re both surrounded by on the day. Book yourself head to toe at TPR and SELF,  those girls know what they’re doing and you’ll be in the best hands.

Ps. When you do, give them all a big hug from me because I miss them lots <3
