Words by The Parlour RoomIt’s always a special time when future brides to be walk through our doors and entrust us with their bridal beauty needs. From skincare and beauty and everything in between, here at The Parlour Room we love helping our clients look and feel their best, especially when it comes to their bridal beauty journey.
With the launch of The Bridal Edit, our online resource covering absolutely everything you need to know, (including what treatments to book and when, expert advice and don’t forget your complimentary bridal beauty checklist), we are so excited to introduce this new series where we chat to our TPR brides and ask them to share their journey so that you too, can be inspired as you plan ahead.
For this edition, we feature TPR bride Tanaya Stewartt, who tied the knot in March with the idyllic castle-like backdrop of Curzon Hall on Sydney’s North Shore.
Our wedding was a fusion of both our cultures – Indian, Chinese, and Australian. We were inspired by traditional Indian weddings, with a twist that made the day unique to us. Gold was the running theme of the day- from the jewellery, to the vintage heirloom skirt from James’ family to the gold Gucci shoes I wore on the day 🙂
We wanted something in Sydney given the uncertainty with Covid at the time….but we still wanted it to be magical and almost have a royal feel to it. Curzon Hall was perfect for that since it’s basically a castle!
My makeup was glowy, with golden tones and flushed cheeks. I didn’t want anything too heavy or dark, particularly given it was a daytime wedding. I also had three outfits so it was important the look suited all three.
Before I started planning our wedding I was pretty consistent with my skincare, having worked in beauty before. However, I’d never had any professional facials before so 3 months before the wedding I began regular microdermabrasion facials and followed it up with high-quality products and a skincare routine at home.
My general beauty treatments remained the same but I began to get them done more regularly, including an eyebrow wax and tint, manicures and pedicures and regular waxing and laser hair removal.
Be as organised as you can be and hire a wedding planner if you can afford it (it’s so worth it). When it comes to the day, try not to worry about the small details – all your planning is now finished so it’s time to just enjoy yourself and smile! 🙂
It’s important to be flexible. We had planned to have outdoor ceremonies and it ended up being the wettest weekend in Sydney in 30 years, so making sure we had a wet weather plan made the day run that much smoother and we ended up having the best time (and great photos) despite the rain ☺️
