WHAT TREATMENTS TO BOOK & WHEN?
It can be daunting trying to fit in appointments before you fly. So we’ve have outlined a convenient guide on when to schedule specific treatments:
1.Waxing
Waxing is an excellent way to boost your confidence before a vacation! To ensure a comfortable experience, it’s recommended to leave a minimum of 48 hours between your waxing session and boarding your flight. This allows your skin to settle in case of any minor irritation before being exposed to the sun. By the time you arrive at your destination, your skin will be ready to shine! Typically, the results of waxing can last between 3 to 5 weeks. In the days leading up to your flight and during your journey, remember to keep the waxed area well moisturised. This helps to maintain the skin’s hydration and soothe any potential sensitivity. Book here.
When it comes to effortless beauty during your holidays, a lash tint and lift paired with brow lamination is truly the holy grail. These treatments offer low maintenance upkeep while ensuring you always look put together, even after a long-haul flight. The lash tint and lift will enhance your lashes, giving them a beautiful curl and a darker, more defined appearance. This means you can skip the hassle of applying mascara daily, yet still have stunning lashes that frame your eyes perfectly. After a tiring flight, your eyes will instantly appear refreshed. Meanwhile, brow lamination works wonders for your eyebrows. This treatment tames unruly brows, creating a groomed and polished look. All it takes is a simple brush through, and you’ll have impeccably styled brows that effortlessly complete your overall appearance. Say goodbye to time-consuming brow grooming on holiday. Book here.
Whether you have just come off a flight or are preparing to embark on a journey, our 45-minute Jet Setter Facial is specifically designed to provide your skin with nourishment, protection, and rejuvenation. This invigorating treatment is designed to combat dehydration, purify your pores, and eliminate any accumulated congestion, pollution, or fluid retention. The facial starts with a thorough double cleanse. Next, a gentle enzyme peel is applied, exfoliating and renewing the skin’s surface for a fresh and radiant complexion. To enhance circulation and reduce puffiness, a lymphatic facial massage is delicately performed, promoting lymphatic drainage and revitalising your facial contours. This technique helps to diffuse any swelling and promote a more sculpted appearance. The final step of this transformative facial involves applying a deeply regenerative hydrating facial mask. This potent mask restores moisture levels within the skin, revitalizing and replenishing it from within. The result? Glowing, luminous skin that radiates a healthy and refreshed appearance. With our 45-minute facial, you can embark on your journey with confidence, knowing that your skin is pampered, nourished, and exuding a natural, radiant glow. Book here.
To ensure a seamless and flawless spray tan, it’s crucial to prioritise your nail appointments beforehand. By getting your nails done prior to the spray tan session, you can prevent the tan from being inadvertently removed around the hands and feet. For trips lasting around 3-4 weeks, we highly recommend opting for BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) treatment. This particular method offers the longest-lasting results, allowing your nails to maintain their pristine condition throughout your journey. However, if your trip exceeds the 3-4 week mark, we suggest considering either Shellac or Dazzle Dry treatments for your nails. These options are more suitable for longer trips, as it will be relatively easier to find professionals who can redo or maintain Shellac or Dazzle Dry manicures. By prioritizing your nail care and choosing the appropriate treatment based on the length of your trip, you can ensure that your nails remain beautiful and regardless of the duration of your vacation. 5.Tan
To achieve a radiant glow that lasts throughout your flight, we recommend scheduling your tan appointment approximately 24 hours before departure. This time frame allows you ample time to receive your desired tan, allow it to develop and settle, and then rinse off before boarding the plane.
To maintain the integrity of your tan, it’s advisable to wear loose-fitting clothing during the flight. This precautionary measure helps prevent constant rubbing, which could potentially affect the longevity and evenness of your tan. Upon landing at your destination, you’ll be delighted to discover a head-to-toe glow. By planning your tan accordingly and taking care during the flight, you can confidently showcase your luminous and sun-kissed skin throughout your entire journey. Don’t forget to moisturise your tan to enhance its longevity. Book here.
YOUR VACAY SKIN
In preparation for your flight, we reached out to our esteemed SELF therapists to gather their routine and recommendations for in-flight skincare. As we all know, flights can be quite dehydrating for the skin due to the recycled air. Therefore, prioritising hydration before and after the flight becomes crucial.
A favourite method from our SELF Therapist, Kelly, is to incorporate sheet masks and sleep-in masks into the skincare routine both before boarding and during the flight, as well as upon landing. By using these masks, you can infuse your skin with moisture and replenishment, combating the effects of the dry cabin air. Additionally, consider decanting your preferred products into smaller bottles to create a mini facial experience while on the plane. A quick double cleanse with micellar water can be followed by a hydrating sheet mask like the Medik8 Ultimate Recovery Bio-Cellulose mask. For a deeply nourishing treatment, try the O Cosmedics Hydra sleep-in mask (Available in salon). Remember to prioritize sun protection, especially if you have a window seat, by applying SPF. Another tip is to avoid too much alcohol and caffeine consumption prior to the flight as this can further dehydrate your skin.
WHAT TO PACK!
If you’re concerned about the space constraints in your suitcase, decanting your favourite skin products into smaller containers is an excellent way to fit them in without sacrificing your skincare routine.
To simplify your packing and alleviate stress, we’ve curated a list of essential skincare items that are must-haves:
Moisturiser: Is Clinical Moisture Emulsion which provides nourishment and hydration to your skin.
Cleanser: The Medik8 Cleanser is an ideal choice for maintaining clean and refreshed skin, removing impurities accumulated during your travels.
Sunscreen: Protect your skin from harmful UV rays with the Medik8 Advanced Day Ultimate Protect + Moisturiser.
By including these key products in your travel skincare arsenal, you can tackle the challenges of knowing what to pack skin wise.
