Words by The Parlour RoomWhat started with a resurgence of the french tip with a twist last year, nail art (read: DIY Nail Art) continues to be THE leading trend of the season.
So while there’s still a few weeks until we’re able to welcome you back to the salon, now is the perfect time to order our at-home manicure kits, get creative and fill in some spare time.
BASE & TOP COAT
POLISH – a base and contrasting colours
FOIL
FINE PAINT BRUSH or BOBBY PIN
An easy one to begin with, if you don’t have a fine paint brush, a bobby pin will do the trick. Start with a base colour first and then take your foil, add a droplet of polish, dip your tool to then work your designs.
If you’ve mastered the art of dot painting try spacing them out into a cute little daisy formation.
For those with a steady hand, keep things chic and simple with some elevated clean line work. And if all else fails…
We then move onto squiggles and swirls. An easy progression from a simple line work mishap, our tip? Work slow, and build your line work with layers. You may need to go over them a couple of times to reach the desired effect.
Arguably the biggest nail trend we’ve seen these past twelves months, this time, try reverse it. Better yet? Try a two-toned coloured look instead.
Finally, the perfect dupe for those of us without a steady hand. Simply stick and then apply your top coat to seal.
